It's hard to believe it, but back-to-school season is here. As you prepare your child for another school year, remember that in addition to any new backpacks, notebooks and shoes, your growing student will need some essentials for their health as well. Below are a few things to get your child started off on the right track.
It's imperative that your child(ren)'s medical records are up-to-date with the school, especially their medication list and a yearly physical. A Gatti pharmacist can help you update records along with medication management and tips for proper use. Our team will discuss prescription safety including drug and food interactions and what not to take with the medications.
OTC and Vitamins:
Viruses tend to spread easily during the start of school season, and we carry a variety of OTC items to help with symptoms. Additionally, parents who are looking for alternative treatment solutions can find different options in our pharmacy, such as CBD oil and a selection of vitamins.
Last but not least, you'll need to ensure they will be protected from the flu by getting a flu shot. The CDC states that it is the number one way to ensure protection from the influenza virus. At Gatti Pharmacy, we can administer the flu shot to children ages 9 and up. No appointment is necessary, and it is covered by most insurances. Flu season is typically October through May. Be on the look out for announcements from the pharmacy regarding when the shot is available.
