PERMANENTLY CLOSED AFTER 90 YEARS IN BUSINESS
Despite our dedicated employees, attention to patient care, and growth in sales, the battles we faced as an independent pharmacy were not enough to keep our doors open. All patient files were officially transferred to Rite Aid at 375 Philadelphia Street, Indiana, PA June 30, 2020.
We thank our community from the bottom of our hearts for your support over the years. It has been a pleasure to be "The Know You By Name Pharmacy" all of these years.
Our closing had nothing to do with COVID-19 but rather the challenges that we, and other community pharmacies, face due to the practices of pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) who act as middlemen between pharmacies and insurance companies, causing reimbursement fees to be low and fees they charge to be high.
While there is sadly no hope for us, there is still something you can do to save your local pharmacy.
Despite fighting and advocating for change to the payment model, our pharmacy and other community pharmacies like us have been forced to close recently.
This is an ongoing worsening issue that, if not resolved, will result in many more closures of independent pharmacies.

WHAT WE DID
We were proud to be independent because it meant we were able to accomplish just as much, if not more, than what corporate pharmacies do without sacrificing the customer service. Our patients could always count on us to provide them with the attention they needed to make their healthcare more accessible. From calling patient doctors, helping people save money on much needed medications, managing and organizing medications, and so much more, we found real solutions to patient problems.
Patients could easily request a refill, opt for special packaging, arrange automatic refills & more.
We administered vaccines for the flu, traveling, & more. Travel vaccine consultations were also available.
We organized medications for patients by day & time into one simple packet, thus making it easier to know what to take & when.
Prescriptions were set up for once monthly pick-up or delivery for free to all patients.
We offered free delivery long before Amazon. We also had a convenient drive-thru window.
Our VIP membership program allowed patients to save money & get more from us.
Through Gatti Cares, we partnered with local healthcare providers & caretakers to help them with patients.
Our certified fitter helped patients with a variety of DME products, from Dr. Comfort shoes to canes & stockings.
IUP students could use their student discounts, receive the travel vaccines they needed, & more.
We carried a variety of maternity care items including breast pumps, nursing bras, & cloth diapers.
