Travel Vaccination Planner

Travel Vaccination Planner

Are you planning a trip outside the United States?
Do you know what vaccines you need?

Gatti Pharmacy is pleased to offer a range of vaccines to help keep you safe while traveling.  In fact, we are the only place in the area administering the Yellow Fever vaccine. Travel vaccines available at Gatti Pharmacy include:

  • Hepatitis A and B
  • Tetanus/Diptheria and Tetanus/Diptheria/Pertussis
  • Typhoid
  • Polio
  • Rabies
  • Yellow Fever
  • And more! We can provide any vaccine that is on the market.

To receive travel help from us, simply call us at 724-349-4200 or email us at smithcooney@gattirx.com.  After helping you determine which vaccines you will need for travel, we will provide you with the necessary information you’ll need.  Then we’ll set up a time for you to come receive your vaccinations.  Remember that some vaccines will require more than one visit.  Confused about what you’re researching, be sure to contact one of our pharmacists!

Below are tips from the Centers for Disease Control on what you should do to prepare for your travel.

Research Your Destination

It’s a good idea to start your research by acquiring general knowledge of the destination as well as any current health warnings or concerns. Visit cdc.gov for country-specific travel information.  The pharmacists at Gatti Pharmacy are also knowledgeable on destination-specific requirements and recommendations.

Learn What Vaccines You Need To Obtain

We’re happy to help you determine what vaccines you’ll need before you come for your vaccine appointment!  At the Center for Disease Control’s website, www.cdc.gov you will find an up-to-date list of vaccines both recommended and required for each country.

Visit Your Doctor

It is recommended that you obtain vaccines 4-6 weeks in advance of travel.  Most vaccines take time to become effective in your body and some vaccines must be given in a series over a period of days or sometimes weeks.  Even if you are traveling within the next 4 weeks, you should still consult your doctor as you might still benefit from shots or medications.  Many vaccines do not require a prescription from your physician, but several do.  Please contact us for more information on what we need prior to your appointment.  The sooner before your trip you contact us, the better, as certain vaccines can take as long as 6 months to complete the entire series.
