- During pregnancy: Women who are pregnant will want to make sure they are up-to-date on their immunizations, especially for whooping cough (pertussis) and the flu.
- Children: Diseases spread fast among groups, particularly in schools. It is really important that individuals in daycare, schools (even college students -- yes, that means you, IUP!) are regularly vaccinated to keep those illnesses at bay.
- Adults: Adults should also be regularly vaccinated regardless of where they are in their life. In addition to the above, adults may need hepatitis A and B vaccines depending on age, job, medical conditions or travel. Those over 65 or others with chronic illnesses (diabetes, asthma, COPD, etc.) benefit from pneumonia shots. Lastly, tetanus boosters should be received every 10 years.
If you are unsure what vaccines you or your children need, please do not hesitate to speak with a Gatti pharmacist to find out what's right for you.
