- Mango Health. One of the most unique features of Mango Health is its rewards process. When doing something you don’t particularly like or have trouble remembering, rewards can always serve as motivation/reminder. That’s the goal behind Mango Health - the more often you remember to take your medications, the more points you earn.
When you have enough points, you can turn them in for tangible rewards or even use them as a cash donation to a charity of your choice. Other helpful features include drug interaction alerts, health habit reminders (walk more, drink more water, check blood pressure, etc.), and a health diary.
- CareZone. A large focus of this app is on sharing care with others. Whether you are a parent, spouse, or caregiver, this makes managing others’ (and your own) medications easier. Since you have access to others’ med lists, you can also get alerts if they miss doses. CareZone also has a novel way of entering all the medications you are taking. You simply take pictures of all the medication bottles and CareZone will input all the medications automatically. Lastly, there are tools to help you track other measures of health, such as blood glucose, blood pressure, and weight.
- And finally - the alarm clock app. This one is not fancy, but it’s a useful tool built into every single smartphone. If your challenge is primarily remembering to take meds, then this might be the best solution for you. No additional apps needed. Just set alarms for the time(s) of day you take your medications and make them repeat. This simple solution should have the routine down to a habit in a couple of weeks.
